Good short English course

We took the Intensivkurs for a few weeks. The lessons were 25 minutes, good for my son's attention span. Teacher was a native speaker. No issues with booking. It worked out well.

Decent English lessons for kids

My daughter tried the General English Kurs. It was pretty good, the teacher was nice and she seemed to enjoy the Novakid Game World. We did the 4-Wochen Abo. Setting up the classes was straightforward enough. It did take a few tries to find a time that worked with her other activities, but we got there. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Great online English for kids

I signed my son up for the Online Englischunterricht here, and it's been fantastic! We started with a Probestunde, which was super easy to book. The interactive gaming platform really kept him engaged, which is not always easy for a 7-year-old. The teacher was a near-native speaker and made the 25-Minuten Lektionen fly by. I really appreciate the Lernfortschrittsberichte too. I'm definitely going to continue with a 12-Wochen Abo once this one finishes and will tell all my parent friends about it!

Does Novakid do any special deals for Black Friday or other holidays? Trying to plan when to buy a bigger package.

B Ben M. 2 months ago

They definitely do Black Friday sales! Also look out for New Year and summer holiday deals. They often have bonus hours or discounts on longer subscriptions then.

J Josh 2 months ago

Yep, Black Friday is a big one. I got a good discount on a 24-week package last year. They also sometimes have seasonal promotions around like Easter or back-to-school.

My kids are 5 and 8. Would both of them be able to use Novakid, or is it more for older kids?

G Greg 2 months ago

They say it's for 4-12 year olds, so your 5-year-old should be fine, and definitely the 8-year-old. My nephew started when he was 4 and loved it.

L Lisa 2 months ago

It's pretty good for that age range. The younger ones get more game-based stuff, and the older ones get a bit more structured. You can check the curriculum based on age too.

Hey, thinking about signing up my kid. What's the deal with the free trial lesson? Is it actually free or are there hidden costs?

E Emma Osei 2 months ago

Yeah, it's genuinely free. My daughter did one last month, no credit card required or anything. They just let you try it out.

D Dana C. 2 months ago

Can confirm, got a free trial for my son. It's a proper 25-minute lesson, gives you a good feel for the platform and the teachers. Just gotta register.

Thinking of switching from Cambly Kids. Is Novakid's platform more interactive for kids, or is it pretty similar?

A Andre G. 2 months ago

My friend's kid used Cambly and said Novakid feels a bit more structured with the game world and digital workbook. It's not just free chat.

I Ivy 2 months ago

Novakid is definitely game-focused. My daughter loves the little games and activities during the lesson, keeps her way more engaged than just talking. Feels less like a traditional class.

What's the cancellation policy for lessons? My schedule can be a bit unpredictable.

S Sam C. 2 months ago

You can reschedule lessons, but I think there's a timeframe, like a few hours before the lesson, otherwise you might lose it. Not sure about full cancellations though, usually it's rescheduling.

D David T. 2 months ago

I've rescheduled a few times without issue, but you need to do it well in advance. Check their terms, I think it's 8 hours or something like that to avoid losing the credit.

Anyone know if you can use like a new customer discount AND a referral code together? Trying to stack some savings.

A Andre Foster 1 month ago

I tried that a while back, didn't work for me. Usually, the new customer discount applies to the first package, and referral bonuses are more like credit for later lessons.

J Julia Okafor 1 month ago

Nah, I think most places, including Novakid, only let you use one code at a time for initial purchases. Referral credits are different though, they usually just get added to your account balance.

Are the teachers actually native English speakers? Some platforms say 'native' but it turns out they're not always.

J June D. 1 month ago

They have both native and 'near-native' speakers. I specifically picked a native speaker for my daughter and haven't had issues. You can usually see their background info.

J June Z. 1 month ago

You can filter for native speakers, I believe. My kid's teacher is from the US and has a really clear accent. I'd say they're legit.

How long does a typical lesson last? My son has a short attention span.

N Nick E. 2 months ago

Lessons are 25 minutes. It's actually a pretty good length for kids, keeps them engaged without getting too bored.

G Gwen E. 2 months ago

Yeah, 25 mins. Perfect, honestly. Longer and my kid would probably just start staring out the window.
